Caring For Ontario Orchids

Ontario Orchids are a lot easier to take care of than people think. Mike van Steekelenburg, CosMic Plants Inc., Beamsville: Yeah, orchids they still seem to have a little bit of a misconception about caring for them. Basically the main thing with orchids is never too overwater. They survive drought better than too much water. My advice for watering orchid would be to take the complete plant out of the decorative pot, hold it under a tap in the kitchen sink and saturate the grower’s pot with water, and let it drain out completely before you place it back into the decorative pot. That way you prevent water from collecting in the decorative pot, because orchids roots need air.
